"From the inner struggle emerges the cry of a soul seeking liberation, where pain becomes the price of life."Â
Mixed media on canvas with three-dimensional elements
Dimensions: 100 x 180 cm
In Animi Viscera, the artist explores the fragility of the human soul through a dramatic and intense composition. On the glossy black background, crossed by amber light from the left, rise slender, entangled thorny branches, whose sharp thorns become prison and torment.
An identityless human figure, lacking distinctive features, emerges from this darkness. Illuminated by the amber light and an additional gray pearl light from the right, the figure seems to express an intense desire for liberation. Trapped by the thorny branches that grasp it forcefully, its weariness and suffering are palpable.
In a self-inflicted gesture, the figure rips its heart from an open wound on its chest, the only wound that bleeds, while the injuries caused by the thorns produce no blood. The heart, in deep and glossy red, is held in the left hand, symbolizing a suffering that never fully fades; the pain only changes direction, from the chest to the hand, remaining ever-present.
Animi Viscera presents itself as a work in which the artist reflects on the inevitability of pain and the struggle for liberation from inner anguish, using a variety of materials to give life to a message of intense vulnerability.
