Samuel Pugliese is an Italian visual artist who explores the complexity of the human soul through an artistic language that blurs the boundaries between painting and sculpture. Raised in a creative family, with a poet mother and a set designer father, he developed a curiosity for the power of imagination from a young age, inspired by the exploration of both real and fantastical worlds through old encyclopedias and historical maps.
His works address universal themes such as solitude, vulnerability, and pain, using mixed media and tactile textures that give them an almost sculptural dimension. With a dark yet hopeful aesthetic, Samuel employs intense reds and deep blacks to create an atmosphere of vulnerability. Recurring subjects such as trees, roses, snakes, and human hearts tell stories of life, regeneration, and suffering. This visual interaction creates a dialogue between the visible and the invisible, inviting the viewer to explore their own emotions and confront their inner world.
